委员会指出，加密资产具备匿名性与跨境流动特征，可能被用于规避资金来源审查，从而加剧外国干预英国政治的风险。主席Matt Western表示，公众对政治资金透明度的信任正在被侵蚀，必须采取更严格措施加以防范。
报告还提到，混币器、隐私币及跨链工具可隐藏资金轨迹，而人工智能技术甚至可以将大额捐款拆分为低于申报门槛的“微额转账”，进一步增加监管难度。这些因素使当前规则难以有效覆盖加密货币政治捐款场景。
不过，部分行业人士对此持不同看法。Komodo创始人Kadan Stadelmann认为，全面禁止或强化KYC要求，可能迫使政党集中存储大量敏感数据，反而增加被黑客攻击的风险。他指出，历史上多起政治组织遭网络攻击事件表明，中心化数据结构更易成为目标。
此外，CryptoUK顾问Ian Taylor表示，在合规框架下，加密交易本身具备可追溯性；而RUSI专家Tom Keatinge则警告，禁令可能将相关活动转移至海外，难以从根本上解决问题。
