Riot Platforms đồng ý trả 20 triệu USD tiền mặt cho SBI Crypto nhằm chấm dứt vụ kiện kéo dài ba năm liên quan đến thỏa thuận lưu trữ khai thác Bitcoin tại cơ sở Whinstone ở Rockdale, Texas. Thỏa thuận đạt được ngày 16/2, chỉ một tuần sau khi phiên tòa bắt đầu tại Tòa án Liên bang khu vực Tây Texas.
Vụ kiện khởi nguồn từ tháng 4/2023 khi SBI cáo buộc vi phạm hợp đồng và yêu cầu bồi thường hơn 175 triệu USD, sau đó nâng lên trên 350 triệu USD. Tuy nhiên, tòa đã bác một phần yêu cầu bồi thường dựa trên giá Bitcoin tăng.
Song song đó, Whinstone cũng hoàn tất thỏa thuận “Rhodium Settlement” trị giá 185 triệu USD trong năm 2025. Riot ghi nhận doanh thu 647 triệu USD năm 2025, khai thác 5.686 BTC và đang nắm giữ hơn 18.000 BTC.
