BlockBeats 消息，2 月 23 日，据英国《金融时报》报道，黎巴嫩的银行家和政客们正考虑出售或出租中央银行的部分巨额黄金储备，以此作为拯救国家经济的途径。这些黄金储备的价值随着金价飙升而水涨船高。
黎巴嫩央行持有超过 280 吨黄金，在中东地区仅次于沙特，对于一个国土面积较小的国家而言实属罕见。该行从 20 世纪 40 年代和 50 年代开始积累黄金储备，目的是支撑黎巴嫩货币的价值。自 2019 年以来，黎巴嫩一直饱受经济崩溃的困扰，但各方始终未能就解决方案达成一致。
然而，出售国家积累的黄金储备却遭到民众的强烈反对，他们认为这是少数人以牺牲多数人利益为代价的权宜之计。
