據《華爾街日報》報導,資產管理規模高達 1.7 兆美元的富蘭克林坦伯頓(Franklin Templeton),已同意收購從加密貨幣創投機構 CoinFund 分拆出來的公司「250 Digital」,以進一步擴大加密貨幣投資產品版圖。
《華爾街日報》周三引述富蘭克林坦伯頓創新主管 Sandy Kaul 的說法稱,這樁收購案完成後,新成立的加密貨幣業務部門將命名為「Franklin Crypto」,主攻機構級投資市場,客群包括退休基金、主權財富基金及其他大型機構投資人。交易具體條件並未公開。
目前雙方皆未公開具體的交易金額與條款。
250 Digital 於今年 1 月從創投公司 CoinFund 分拆獨立,由 CoinFund 兩名高階主管 Christopher Perkins 、 Seth Ginns 領軍。
富蘭克林坦伯頓早在 2018 年就涉足加密貨幣產業,目前數位資產團隊約有 50 人,旗下已推出代幣化貨幣市場基金,同時也是美國比特幣、以太幣現貨 ETF 的發行商。
Sandy Kaul 向《華爾街日報》表示:「近期加密貨幣市場的大幅回檔,恰好創造了非常難得的奇蹟,讓我們團隊一致認為,現在就是『扣下扳機』展開行動的絕佳時機。」
