Golden Ten Data on November 18, BofA Securities issued a report pointing out that Lenovo Group (00992. HK) reported a profit of US$359 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2025 ended September, up 47% quarter-on-quarter and 44% year-on-year, beating the bank’s and market forecasts by 8% and 5%, respectively, mainly due to the better performance of the PC market. Revenue of $17.8 billion was up 16% quarter-on-quarter and 24% year-on-year, beating the bank’s and market forecasts by 11% and 10%. However, the gross profit margin did not meet expectations due to the relatively high proportion of server sales. BofA Securities raised Lenovo Group’s earnings forecast for fiscal 2025 to the end of March next year by 2% to reflect its results, and fine-tuned its earnings forecast for fiscal 2026 to 2027. Potential U.S. tariffs and geopolitical disputes could be more costly. The bank lowered the target price of Lenovo Group by HK$10 from HK$11.6. Rating “Neutral”.
