On October 26, Jinshi Data reported that recently, the E. coli outbreak caused by McDonald’s Quarter Pounder with Beef (MCD.N) has resulted in one death and nearly 50 people being affected. A man from Colorado has filed the first lawsuit against McDonald’s regarding this incident. The lawsuit, filed on the 23rd at the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois, claims that Eric Strelley dined at a McDonald’s in Greeley, Colorado on October 4 and tested positive for E. coli a few days later. Colorado health officials later informed Strelley that his infection was related to McDonald’s E. coli outbreak. Strelley resides in Greeley but filed the lawsuit against the company at its headquarters in Chicago. The lawsuit alleges that McDonald’s was negligent in handling and storing food and seeks compensation of over $50,000.
