Peskov: The "Tomahawk" missiles cannot change the situation on the front lines.
Jin10 reported on October 12, local time, that Russian President's Press Secretary Peskov stated in an interview with reporters that Russia is closely monitoring statements regarding the “Tomahawk” cruise missiles, and the issue of this weapon potentially being delivered to Ukraine has raised significant concerns in Moscow. Peskov emphasized that the “Tomahawk” missiles are powerful weapons, but they cannot change the situation on the front lines. U.S. Vice President Pence stated to the media at the end of September that the White House is considering providing “Tomahawk” cruise missiles, which have a range that could cover Moscow, to Ukraine through NATO European member states. U.S. President Trump stated on October 6 at the White House that a “certain decision” has been made regarding whether to provide “Tomahawk” missiles to Ukraine. On the 10th, Russian President Putin stated that if the U.S. provides “Tomahawk” missiles to Ukraine, Russia will strengthen its air defense systems in response. Putin also mentioned that Russia has developed a new type of weapon, which will be showcased to the outside world soon, and that this weapon is currently undergoing successful testing.
