A U.S. man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for transferring Crypto Assets to fund ISIS.

According to Gate.io News bot, as reported by TheBlock, Mohammed Azharuddin Chhipa, a resident of Virginia, USA, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for providing Crypto Assets funding support to the Islamic State (ISIS).

Between 2019 and 2022, Chhipa raised more than $185,000 and converted it into cryptocurrency, which was transited through Turkey and sent to ISIS in Syria, according to Justice Department documents. The funds were used to support ISIS’s jailbreak and logistical activities.
