3月3日消息,前洛杉矶警局警官Eric Halem因绑架并抢劫一名17岁青少年比特币被判有罪。据庭审资料显示,2024年,Halem伙同三名同谋冒充警察闯入受害者位于韩国城的高层公寓,从其手中窃取价值约35万美元的比特币硬盘。检方称,青少年在被威胁后交出硬盘,其女友也在过程中被控制。
庭审证词显示,Halem及同伙穿着印有警察标识的背心,乘电梯到18楼,并使用同伙提供的密码进入公寓。他们用洛杉矶警察局配发的手铐制服受害者及其女友,索要硬盘。尽管青少年承认通过欺诈手段获得加密货币财富,但这并未影响抢劫指控。
Halem曾在洛杉矶警察局服役13年,2022年离职。案发时,他仍为预备役警官,并经营DriveLA汽车租赁公司,同时开发面向演员的应用程序,并计划制作真人秀节目。法院定于3月31日对其量刑,其他被告尚未受审,检方称其中一人与所谓“以色列黑手党”有关。
