Quân đội Mỹ được cho là đã sử dụng mô hình Claude của Anthropic trong một cuộc không kích lớn nhằm vào Iran, chỉ vài giờ sau khi Tổng thống Donald Trump yêu cầu các cơ quan liên bang ngừng hợp tác với công ty này. Theo The Wall Street Journal, US Central Command đã dùng AI để phân tích tình báo, xác định mục tiêu và mô phỏng chiến trường.

Trước đó, Anthropic từng ký hợp đồng trị giá tới 200 triệu USD với Pentagon, thông qua hợp tác với Palantir và Amazon Web Services. Tuy nhiên, căng thẳng leo thang khi CEO Dario Amodei từ chối cho phép quân đội sử dụng AI không hạn chế vì lý do đạo đức. Sau đó, Lầu Năm Góc chuyển sang đạt thỏa thuận triển khai AI với OpenAI.
