美國與以色列聯手對伊朗發動代號「史詩怒火」（Operation Epic Fury）的大規模空襲行動。目標摧毀伊朗核設施與飛彈計畫、癱瘓其海軍，以及最具爭議性的：斬首。
今（1）日清晨，以色列兩名安全官員向外媒確認，伊朗最高領袖哈米尼已在空襲中身亡。川普隨後也在 Truth Social 發文稱哈米尼作為「歷史上最邪惡的人物之一」已經死亡，並宣布「密集且精確的轟炸將不間斷持續整整一週，或持續到達成中東和平目標為止」。
然而，伊朗官方的回應耐人尋味。外交部長阿拉奇聲稱「所有高層官員都活著」，但措辭刻意迴避了「哈米尼」三個字。伊朗官方社群帳號也僅發布象徵性圖像，沒有任何直接證據。
後來 ABC 新聞追問川普時，他的回答是：「我們相信那是準確的聲明」但也承認尚未獨立核實。
德黑蘭街頭的歡呼聲
哈米尼死訊傳出後，德黑蘭部分地區也響起歡呼聲與慶祝活動。X 上流出大量民眾在街頭熱烈歡呼的影片。在澳洲的伊朗僑民也有人走上街頭慶祝。
但歷史的教訓是冷酷的：2003 年巴格達陷落時，伊拉克街頭也有歡呼聲，但接下來發生的事大家都記得。
如果哈米尼真的確實身亡，伊朗將面臨 1989 年以來首次最高領袖更迭，但強硬派可能藉此鞏固權力並升級報復行動；改革派則可能趁亂尋求談判出路。
