BlockBeats 消息，2 月 27 日，推特创始人 Jack Dorsey 针对「2019 年 12 月至 2022 年 12 月 Block 员工数从 3,900 人增长至 12,500 人，如今裁减规模甚至不到当初「疯狂扩招」的一半，这与其说是因为人工智能，不如说更反映 Jack Dorsey 管理不善」发文回应称，「是的，我们在疫情期间确实过度招聘了，因为当时我错误地搭建了两个相互独立的公司架构（Square 和 Cash App），而不是整合为一个统一架构。这个问题我们已在 2024 年中进行了纠正。但这种说法忽略了我们在此期间承担的复杂性——包括开展借贷、银行业务以及「先买后付」等业务所带来的运营与合规挑战。

目前我们的目标是实现每名员工 200 万美元以上的毛利润，这相当于疫情前效率的四倍。自 2019 年至 2024 年期间，我们的人均毛利润基本维持在约 50 万美元左右。我们一直在、并且仍然在运营一家高效的公司，效率优于大多数同行。」

此前报道，推特创始人 Jack Dorsey 旗下比特币支付公司 Block 正在裁减 4000 名员工，裁员比例接近一半。该公司正将赌注押在人工智能改变未来劳动生产率上。受裁员计划影响，Block 股价盘后飙升 22%。
