2月26日消息，英国部分议员正推动暂时禁止政治加密货币捐款，以应对潜在的外国资金干预风险。由国家安全战略联合委员会主席Matt Western牵头的议员已致信住房、社区和地方政府大臣Steve Reed，建议在选举委员会出台明确监管指引前，暂停政党接受数字资产捐赠。
Matt Western在信中指出，目前英国尚缺乏统一的国家级执法框架来全面监管政治资金来源，尤其是在加密资产匿名性较强的背景下，政治融资透明度面临新的挑战。随着英国在欧洲安全事务中的角色提升，政治资金可能成为影响外交立场的重要变量，因此加强审查机制被认为具有战略意义。
提案内容包括，仅允许政党通过在金融行为监管局注册的虚拟资产服务提供商处理加密捐款，并要求对资金最终来源进行高确定性核查。同时，议员建议禁止使用混币器等可能掩盖资金来源的工具，并强制政党在48小时内将加密货币兑换为英镑，以降低价格波动和合规风险。
此外，提议还涉及强化捐赠者尽职调查、提高涉及外国资金违规行为的处罚力度，并扩大监管机构在选举财务审查中的执法权限。尽管此前有议员希望在《人民代表法案》中直接纳入全面禁令，但2月提交议会的版本尚未包含相关条款，显示政策仍处讨论阶段。
