Golden Finance reports that on April 26th, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Paul Chan Mo-po, stated today (26th) that building on last year’s achievements, Hong Kong’s initial public offering fundraising volume continues to lead globally this year. As of last week, the fundraising amount for new Hong Kong stocks has exceeded 140 billion Hong Kong dollars; from March to date, the average daily trading volume of Hong Kong stocks has surpassed 280 billion Hong Kong dollars. These developments confirm that even amid unpredictable external circumstances, the development of Hong Kong’s financial markets remains unstoppable. Paul Chan Mo-po pointed out that the Mainland’s May Day Golden Week is approaching, and the Immigration Department of the SAR Government expects about 980,000 mainland visitors to visit Hong Kong during the holiday, an increase of about 7% compared to the same period last year. The SAR Government will ensure proper support measures and manage crowd flow at popular attractions, aiming to provide a better experience for travelers and to continue benefiting industries such as catering and retail.
