Market Overview

In the past 24 hours, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) has decreased by about 2.09% from the previous day, opening at $84,338.44 and closing at $82,574.53, with a 24-hour high of $85,117.04 and a low of $81,981.12. In the past 24 hours, the price of Ethereum (ETH) has decreased by about 2.59% from the previous day, opening at $1937.18 and closing at $1887.00, with a 24-hour high of $1940.87 and a low of $1860.38. Ethereum's current market capitalization is $229.8 billion, accounting for 8.5% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, up about 1.05% from the previous day.

In the past 24 hours, 20 of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization rose and 80 declined, of which the top three gainers were BNX (33.53%), BERA (6.19%), HNT (4.80%), and the top three decliners were PI (9.13%), KAS (6.74%), and JUP (6.30%).

As of press time, the total AUM of the US Bitcoin spot ETF is $93.25 billion, with a total trading volume of $15.47 billion in the previous week and a total outflow of $938 million in the trading week. The total AUM of the US Ethereum spot ETF was $6.72 billion, with a total trading volume of $1.803 billion in the previous week and a total outflow of $178 million in the trading week.

As of press time, the total AUM of the Hong Kong Bitcoin spot ETF is $348 million, with a total trading volume of $13.24 million in the previous week and a total Bitcoin inflow of 0.86 BTC in the trading week. The total AUM of Hong Kong Ethereum spot ETF is $37.35 million, the total trading volume in the previous week was $2.9402 million, and the total Ethereum inflow in the trading week was 0 ETH.

On-chain activity

In the past 24 hours, there were 4 transactions of more than 1,000 BTC on the chain, with a total amount of about $772 million, mainly to exchanges and wallet addresses. In the past 24 hours, there were 8 transactions of more than 10,000 ETH on the chain, with a total amount of about $423 million, mainly going to exchanges.

Bitcoin currently has about 700,000 active addresses on the chain, and Ethereum has about 2.96 million active addresses, an increase of about 270% from the previous day. The top 100 addresses in Bitcoin accounted for 15.05%, an increase of 0 from the previous day, showing no trend of institutional holdings. Ethereum's top 100 address holdings accounted for about 70.51%, down about 0.01% from the previous day, indicating a trend of institutional reductions.

Important news

The Bank of Korea responded to the issue of bitcoin reserves for the first time on the 16th, making it clear that it had never considered including it in foreign exchange reserves because of its high price volatility and non-compliance with IMF standards. In contrast, Brazil's parliamentarians have introduced a bill to legalize up to 50% of salaries in bitcoin, which is yet to be considered.

The Trump administration's volatile tariff policy, business and consumer confidence have been frustrated, and the U.S. economic data has been poor, and the "Trump recession" has intensified. On March 16, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said it would be difficult to ensure that the economy did not recession, and on the same day, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that bilateral trade talks would be held after the tariffs, and Fed Chairman Jerome Powell faced the challenge of calming the market.
