Emma Technologies, leading innovation in IT infrastructure with "Brownfield Entry"
Emma Technologies’ new feature, “Brownfield Import,” is expected to more smoothly address the existing IT infrastructure management challenges faced by enterprises. The announcement was made at the KubeCon + CloudNativeCon conference held in Europe. This solution can unify and comprehensively monitor enterprises’ existing VMware environments, public cloud instances, and Kubernetes clusters within a single management system.
Emma Technologies pointed out that modern cloud infrastructure management tools are optimized only for greenfield deployments of new projects, while existing brownfield projects have not been adequately supported. Enterprises have diverse IT environments, often including legacy VMware servers, department-segmented Amazon Web Services accounts, and the latest AI cloud platforms. Managing these heterogeneous environments uniformly requires significant resources and effort, and any misstep can lead to increased infrastructure complexity and reduced efficiency. However, Emma Technologies states that this feature allows IT teams to integrate without disrupting existing environments, thereby solving the visibility issues of dispersed infrastructure.
Dmitry Panenkov, founder and CEO of Emma, noted that most governance solutions only manage newly built infrastructure and overlook existing assets. He emphasized, “Brownfield import is our response to this challenge.” Emma’s solution does not blindly incorporate all resources but enables existing assets to be handled in the same way as new greenfield deployments after their import, creating opportunities for unified management of security, compliance, and performance.
Rob Strechay, analyst at Smugget Consulting, said that integrating multiple systems into one is essential for effectively managing AI agents, and he believes Emma’s solution has the potential to solve complex problems faced by platform engineers. Global system integrators such as PwC US have adopted this solution as a foundational technology for AI and multi-cloud transformation projects.
