This once again demonstrates:

1. The U.S. had zero expectations and contingency plans for the Strait of Hormuz being blockaded.

2. It once again shows that Trump and the Capitol Hill elites are incompetent amateurs at the level of a neighborhood residents' committee, likely inferior to luxury property management teams. Trump has mostly played out his cards, and the ultimate winning strategy is probably about to be unveiled.

3. The Middle Eastern princes are probably all having second thoughts. It turns out that paying protection money not only provided no protection, but they still have to keep paying.

4. Trump's financial backers are all old money in the oil business.

5. Whether it's Iran or Trump now, both are leaving themselves an out. If it came to actual war, it would have ended long ago.

6. Everything ultimately comes down to printing money.
