FED EXPECTS $220B TREASURY PURCHASES OVER NEXT YEAR
A Federal Reserve survey shows the central bank expects to purchase roughly $220 billion in US Treasury securities over the next 12 months as part of reserve management operations.
According to the survey, federalreserve policymakers moved to restart Treasury bill purchases after determining that system reserves had fallen to an “adequate” level, a condition often associated with rising short-term funding costs.
