Techub News reports that, according to DL News, a 39-year-old man in South Korea has been charged by prosecutors with attempting to murder his business partner with highly toxic pesticides after secretly losing approximately $810,000 in cryptocurrency investments. The two have been collaborating on a Bitcoin investment project and co-founding a company since 2022, but conflicts arose after the suspect allegedly embezzled company funds without authorization; the suspect planned to murder to gain sole control of the company, purchasing about $200 worth of banned pesticide methomyl from an online seller last October and adding it to an iced latte at a Seoul café to give to the victim. The victim collapsed and lost consciousness immediately after drinking it, requiring a ventilator to stay alive, and regained consciousness three days later. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder and violations of the Pesticide Management Act. The case will be heard on March 10.
