On December 27, Jinshi data reported that the ruling party of South Korea, the National Power Party, submitted a jurisdictional dispute trial and a motion to suspend the effectiveness of the impeachment case against the acting president. On that day, the South Korean parliament passed the impeachment case against the acting president Han Deok-soo with 192 votes in favor. Han Deok-soo subsequently stated that he respects the decision of the parliament and will suspend his duties to await a prompt and wise judgment from the Constitutional Court. Meanwhile, the acting party leader of the ruling party, Kwon Sung-dong, stated that the vote on the impeachment case against the acting president exercising the presidential authority, Han Deok-soo, is not valid and completely ineffective.
