TapChiBitcoin

Andreessen Horowitz’s venture capital fund focused on crypto, a16z Crypto, is expanding its operations in Asia by opening a new office in Seoul and appointing Sungmo Park as regional head. South Korea, the second-largest crypto market in the world, has a high acceptance rate of crypto and an active on-chain community, making it an ideal hub for a16z’s regional strategy.

The Seoul office will focus on collaborating with founders, strengthening distribution channels, and promoting community development in Asia, especially in South Korea, Singapore, and Japan. While Hong Kong and Singapore remain financial centers, Seoul is emerging as a crypto development hub, attracting innovation and talent. Sungmo Park, a former APAC head at Monad Foundation with experience at Polygon Labs, will support both early-stage startups and established businesses, leveraging expertise in market strategy and ecosystem development across East Asia, Greater China, Southeast Asia, and India.
