On October 5, Jin10 reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated that the Cairo protocol can no longer serve as the basis for cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Iran will announce new cooperation arrangements with the agency. Amir-Abdollahian said, “In the current situation, new decisions must be made; in my view, the Cairo protocol is no longer applicable to the current situation.” He emphasized that practice has shown that there is no alternative to diplomatic means and negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program.
