Have you all noticed that artificial intelligence is increasingly blurring the boundaries of intellectual property? When it comes to intellectual property, many people's first reaction is to think of some concrete things, such as the copyright of a movie, the character design of a game, or an original song, etc.

In fact, the scope of intellectual property is broader, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Its core function is that the law recognizes you as the original creator of the work and grants you exclusive rights to use and profit from it.

In the past, these rules were relatively clear because the creative process and the identity of the creator were defined, but with the emergence of AI, it has started to become complicated.

AI models require training on large datasets, which may come from the public domain, works of others, or even content without clear copyright ownership. So, when AI generates a painting, an article, or even a piece of code, to whom does it really belong?

In fact, before the emergence of AI, the intellectual property system already had many issues:
1⃣ The regulations are complex, the cost of rights protection is high, and small creators cannot afford to go to court.
Overprotection restricts creative communication.
3⃣The difficulty of cross-border enforcement is high.
A prolonged protection period makes it difficult for the new generation to innovate on the foundation laid by their predecessors.

The current speed and scale of AI generation have pushed these contradictions to the extreme, generating hundreds of images in just a few seconds, while copyright review and protection processes are completely lagging behind.

This is also why I have been following @campnetworkxyz, it seems quite interesting to me. Unlike traditional models that focus on punishing infringement, it is more like the Spotify of the intellectual property world, directly creating a platform that benefits both creators and developers.

Creators can upload their works, texts, codes, etc. to the Camp network and set their own usage rules.
Illustrators can specify that their works can only be used in non-commercial scenarios or charge based on the number of uses.
🟧Writers can set how much they earn for each citation by AI.

The platform will automatically track the usage of works, and once they are used, the earnings will be automatically settled, so creators do not have to pursue rights protection themselves.

It's much more convenient for developers now. In the past, they either had to go through the hassle of contacting copyright holders or risk infringement by using works secretly. However, on the Camp network, there are millions of authorized works available to choose from. Just click on the one you like, and you can obtain legal authorization without worrying about suddenly receiving a lawyer's letter one day.

Intellectual property is no trivial matter; it is the economic backbone of many industries, such as film, software, and pharmaceuticals. A work or a technology can bring enormous commercial returns. If AI causes the boundaries of IP to collapse, both creators and enterprises may lose the motivation to invest in creation. In the long run, this could harm the entire innovation ecosystem.

Platforms like @campnetworkxyz may become an important part of the future creative ecosystem, turning copyright protection from passive defense into active win-win.
