On March 21, the U.S. "Down with Tesla" movement on Wednesday massively called on organizers, filmmakers, members of Congress and other key figures to unite for 500 demonstrations at 277 Tesla showrooms and Superchargers in the U.S. on March 29, according to tech outlet The Verge. The "Tesla takedown" campaign stemmed from dissatisfaction with Musk's growing political role, his close relationship with Trump, and his government's efficiency department. Since a large portion of Musk's net worth is tied to his stake in Tesla, members of the Down with Tesla movement have taken aim at the electric car maker. Unfortunately, the protests against Tesla and Musk have become increasingly violent, with Tesla stores being shot at and cars set on fire. Superchargers and Tesla owners' cars were also vandalized and set on fire. At a time when such incidents are intensifying, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he considers such actions to be domestic terrorism. Attorney General Pam Bundy also noted that those behind the arson and vandalism of Tesla cars will be brought to justice.
