Aave Labs founder Stani Kulechov made a statement reassuring investors that there are no plans to issue a separate token for their new product Horizon.

Recently, Aave Labs announced its new product Horizon, which will integrate real-world assets into the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. With this product, the tokenization of real assets, especially targeting institutional investors, was aimed. However, during the launch of Horizon, discussions arose about proposing a 15% share and revenue sharing to the Aave DAO in case a new token is created for the Horizon project.

The Aave community strongly opposed the idea of issuing a new token on the grounds that it would devalue the existing AAVE token and weaken its governance function. Marc Zeller, one of the prominent figures in the community, also explicitly stated that he would not support the proposal in its current form.

In response to the feedback, Aave founder Stani Kulechov addressed the community's concerns via social media platform X. Kulechov stated, "There is a general consensus within the Aave DAO not to issue any other tokens. We will respect this consensus; Aave DAO is truly a DAO," Additionally, he added that work on RWA will continue if the right approach is found.

This statement was well received by community members. Lito Coen from Socket Protocol, expressed his satisfaction with the situation, saying, "I am glad the issue is resolved, Aave turned out to be more decentralized than I expected,".

After the cancellation of the token issuance plan, the future direction of the Horizon product remains uncertain for now.
