Wu said that according to Berascan data, Berachain, as an EVM-compatible blockchain using the CometBFT consensus mechanism, currently has a block time of 2s and a gas limit of 30M in the EVM execution layer. Since the launch of the autonomous network, the average gas utilization rate of the network is about 40%, and the average TPS is about 15. The consensus layer, compared with Ethereum's beacon chain based on the Gasper's PoS mechanism, Berachain is a BeaconKit based on CometBFT, which currently consists of up to 69 validator sets, with a minimum staking threshold of 250k BERA and a maximum of 10m BERA (as of writing, there are only 60 active validators), which can achieve single-slot finality SSF, that is, about 2s of block time to achieve irreversibility of transactions.
