On August 5th, according to Yonhap News, the statistics released by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation on the 4th showed that in the first half of this year, the export volume of Korean kimchi rose by 4.8% year-on-year, reaching 23,900 tons, reaching a new high for the same period in history. In terms of export destinations, in the first half of the year, the export volume of Korean kimchi to the United States increased by 20% year-on-year, reaching 6,600 tons; the export volume to the Netherlands increased by 34% year-on-year, reaching 1,300 tons; the export volume to Canada increased by 34% year-on-year, reaching 900 tons. Among them, the export value of Korean kimchi to the United States in the first half of the year increased by 18.9% year-on-year, reaching 24.1 million US dollars, setting a new historical record.
