Lately, I keep seeing a bunch of people discouraged by words like "data availability / ordering / finality." Actually, you only need to focus on one main thread: Can you see the data, who decides the order, and when exactly the transaction is considered finalized? To put it simply, if you can't see the data, you can only rely on verbal promises; if the ordering is controlled by a few people, front-running and sandwich attacks become more like "default features"; if finality isn't stable, then the awkward situation of "reversing a transaction right after it’s confirmed" on the chain will happen more often.
The NFT royalty debate is also a similar issue: no matter how beautifully the rules are written, in the end, it still depends on who has the authority to order, who can bypass the rules, and whether data in the secondary market is transparent or not.
