The domestic AI acceleration card market in 2025: NVIDIA's market share drops to 55%, AMD ranks fourth
Why has NVIDIA’s market share significantly declined?
On April 2nd, Reuters, citing a report from global market research firm IDC, disclosed that in 2025, the shipment volume of AI acceleration cards in the Chinese market will be about 4 million units, with NVIDIA ranking first with a 55% market share, a sharp decline from the company’s previous 95% market share. Domestic chip companies’ total shipments are approximately 1.65 million units, accounting for about 41% of the market share.
Overall, Huawei ranks second with a shipment volume of 810,000 units, Alibaba’s Pingtouge ranks third with 265k units, and AMD ranks fourth with 160k units.
Looking at domestic companies alone, Huawei’s shipment volume accounts for nearly half of the total domestic shipments, Kunlun Chip and Cambrian are tied for third place, each with 116k units, and the market shares of Hygon, Muxi, and Tianshu Zhixin are 5%, 4%, and 3%, respectively.
