Ukraine reports Russia's large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy system causes power outages in 7 regions

On the 7th local time, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy and Ukraine’s State Power Company reported that Russian attacks caused power outages in 7 regions of Ukraine, with some areas implementing planned outages. Ukraine’s energy company stated that from nighttime to early morning, Russia launched a new round of large-scale missile and drone attacks on energy system facilities across multiple parts of Ukraine. Heat supply disruptions also occurred in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed on the 7th that Russian forces used precision weapons and attack drones overnight to carry out large-scale strikes on Ukraine’s military industrial complex, targeting energy infrastructure and military airports used by the Ukrainian military.
