The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department held the first annual meeting of the "Quality and Safety Management Cooperation Arrangement."
The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department jointly held the first annual meeting of the “Quality and Safety Management Cooperation Arrangement,” reviewing and summarizing cooperation and exchanges between Mainland China and Hong Kong across five areas: standard measurement and conformity assessment, gas-related special equipment, mechanical devices such as elevators and hydrogen energy pressure vessels, household products, and the labeling of energy efficiency. They also reached a consensus on a range of next-step efforts, including further deepening cooperation in quality and safety management and jointly promoting the “soft connectivity” of rules and standards for the Belt and Road Initiative.
Both parties agreed to continuously deepen cooperation and exchanges in the field of quality and safety management, strengthen information exchange and regulatory coordination in areas such as special equipment supervision and product recalls, and promote the smooth trade of high-quality compliant products. Taking deepening cooperation in the hydrogen energy field as a “breakthrough point,” they will support more Hong Kong experts to participate in the development of national standards and international standards, promote pilot green hydrogen certification projects in the Bay Area, further deepen the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and support Hong Kong’s participation in and efforts to help build the “soft connectivity” of rules and standards for the Belt and Road Initiative.
