Don't pretend, I used to think that clicking "Confirm" was all it took, but it wasn't until it got really congested that I realized the transaction was just waiting in the mempool... Miners/validators look at whether your fee is enough and if you'll get pushed out by others. As you wait in line, you might get stuck for a long time or even drop out and have to resend. The most annoying part is thinking the transaction is complete when it's actually still on the way, and your mood just crashes.

Recently, with the cross-chain bridge thefts and oracle errors, everyone is shouting "wait for confirmation," and now I'm even more cautious: seeing the chain congested makes me prefer to do less or just cancel and redo. Anyway, I must reduce my position before sleep, or else my mind will be full of "Did it get on the chain or not?"
