Last night I almost gave myself a heart attack again... Just a small tip, I accidentally added an extra digit when copying the address. Luckily, the chain first popped up the "Unknown Contract Authorization" line, and I immediately stopped. After being hacked once, I’ve become the kind of person who has to stare at every signature for a long time; friends say I’m neurotic.
Back to the creator economy and the second-market royalty dispute. Honestly, I understand that buyers find it troublesome and platforms want to cut fees, but making royalties "optional" ultimately turns into whoever is most shameless gets the deal... The long-term earnings for creators just evaporate. But on the other hand, stuffing royalties into the contract isn’t foolproof either; bypassing transaction routing and using aggregators can still dodge it. No matter how strict the on-chain rules are, human nature can find loopholes.
Recently, there’s been talk about modularization, the DeFi layer narrative, developers are having a blast, but ordinary users (me) only care about: can the signature window be clearer, can the authorization be minimized by default, and who exactly am I paying? The same goes for royalties—discussions are fine, but don’t make users sign a bunch of incomprehensible stuff, then blame them when something goes wrong. That’s it for now; anyway, I’ll just not authorize if I can avoid it.
