Just read about this guy Rui-Siang Lin getting slapped with 30 years for running a darknet drug operation. The whole thing was pretty wild - using crypto to move money through darknet markets. 30 years is no joke.

It's one of those cases that reminds you how seriously law enforcement is taking darknet trafficking now. Like, the infrastructure might be anonymous, but apparently it's not anonymous enough when you're moving that kind of volume. The fact that they connected the crypto transactions to the darknet operation is pretty telling about how much better investigators have gotten at tracing this stuff.

Makes you think about the whole narrative around crypto being untraceable. Clearly if you're running something big enough on the darknet, they'll find you eventually. This guy's 30-year sentence is probably gonna be a warning for anyone else thinking about going down that route.
