Hisense Visuals: AI Empowerment, Opening a New Blue Ocean in the Display Market
(Source: Observer Network)
(By Zhang Zhifeng, Edited by Zhou Yuanfang)
“With the deep integration of display and AI technologies, the home service ecosystem will form a new pattern of ‘AI TV as the core, multi-scenario collaboration, and intelligent services,’ which is expected to open up a new blue ocean in the trillion-yuan smart living market.”
In the 2025 annual report released on the evening of March 30, Hisense Visuals captured this new direction for the display industry with that statement.
According to the financial report, in 2025, Hisense Visuals achieved operating revenue of 57.679 billion yuan; net profit attributable to the parent company was 2.454 billion yuan, up 9.24% year-on-year; net cash flow from operating activities reached 4.583 billion yuan, up 27.43% year-on-year.
Hisense said that, through “breakthroughs in core technologies, AI-driven upgrading of digital and intelligent transformation, leveraging advantages in integrating the vertical industry chain, and coordinating diversified industrial layouts,” these were the core factors behind the company’s double growth in profitability last year.
Behind this, it also highlights Hisense’s precise positioning and continuous breakthroughs in the global display technology competitive landscape.
Technological breakthroughs drive industrial change
The most eye-catching technological breakthrough in the annual report is RGB-Mini LED.
In 2025, Hisense was the first globally to launch this technology and mass-produced products, achieving a breakthrough from “single-dimension light control” to “simultaneous control of light and color.”
According to disclosures by the company, it upgraded the industry’s first chip capable of RGB-3D Dimming (simultaneous control of light and color), and, relying on AI deep-learning technology, overcame industry bottlenecks such as “halo” and “color bleeding,” significantly improving AI adaptive picture-quality performance across all scenarios.
This technological breakthrough is rapidly being transformed into market advantages.
Market research firm Ovi Cloud Data shows that in 2025, the year-on-year shipment volume of Hisense Mini LED products increased by more than 26%; in January–February 2026, the average monthly sales of RGB-Mini LED TVs have already jumped to more than 3 times the average monthly level of 2025.
From the perspective of market share: in the large-screen TV markets of 98 inches and above and 100 inches and above, Hisense ranks first globally with shares of 30.3% and 57.1%, respectively.
Vertical integration builds core competitiveness
Hisense is building industry-chain technology advantages through vertical chip integration.
At present, the company has full capabilities spanning upstream LED chips and picture-quality chips, midstream module design, downstream terminal applications, and cloud services—end to end and independently controllable.
In particular, through strategic controlling stakes in upstream chip companies Xinxinwei and Qianshao Optoelectronics. During the reporting period, Hisense’s TCON chip business continued to grow by more than 10%. It has continued to maintain a leading position in the TV TCON field, with a global market share of about 45%. The share of the monitor TCON market has continued to rise to about 12%, and it achieved mass breakthroughs in the notebook computer TCON field.
This advantage of vertical integration is also reflected in financial data, especially in the commercialization of Mini/Micro LED technology achievements and in its forward-looking layout areas.
In the Mini LED backlight field, Hisense’s self-developed high-performance RGB-Mini LED backlight chips have achieved large-scale applications, and it innovatively launched the “Linglong 4-chip” solution equipped with the fourth type of cyan self-emissive chip. Combined with Mini COB multilayer oxide light-control and Mini RGB mixed arrangement technology, it drove backlight chip business revenue to increase by about 70% year-on-year.
In the Micro LED field, the commercialization process has accelerated significantly. Micro MIP chips obtained mass-production certification from industry-leading companies and have begun small-batch shipments; Micro COG chips used in large-screen and smart wearable products achieved technical breakthroughs and are advancing toward certification with international customers.
For incremental markets such as automotive and AR, Micro LED pixel car lights have upgraded performance to near international first-tier standards. AR micro-display chip technology is continuously iterating and has process capabilities of below 5um.
“Multi-scenario large display” strategy gains momentum
While safeguarding its advantages in traditional display, Hisense Visuals is actively developing a second growth curve.
The annual report shows that in 2025, the company’s main business revenue from new display-related business reached 8.458 billion yuan, up 24.92% year-on-year.
Among them, the laser display business performed especially well. Omdia data confirms that in 2025, Hisense laser TVs held a global shipment share of 70.3%, ranking first worldwide for seven consecutive years.
The commercial display business, meanwhile, achieved a year-on-year revenue surge of 265%. Overseas market growth in interactive flat panels reached 6 times, and global shipment volume ranked second in the industry.
At the same time, the company is leveraging AI to broadly deploy in emerging fields.
The annual report discloses that the company’s smart wearables and scenario display businesses showed explosive growth: domestic shipments of mobile smart screens reached 70,000 units, up 156%; shipments of displays in both domestic and overseas markets grew by 86% and 161% year-on-year, respectively; in micro-displays, acoustics, AI, and VR, the company has already applied for more than 300 related invention patents.
Especially at the 2026 AWE exhibition, the industry’s first large-screen companion robot released by Hisense has been seen in the industry as an important step toward the trillion-yuan smart living market.
Intelligent manufacturing empowers efficient operations
Worth noting is that Hisense places particular emphasis on the role of intelligent manufacturing in enhancing the company’s competitiveness.
In 2025, Hisense’s Qingdao factory was recognized as the world’s first “Lighthouse Factory” in the global television industry. Driven by the dual engines of “user-centered + full-chain AI intelligent manufacturing,” the time to convert user voice into new product function inputs was shortened by 62%, the order-delivery cycle at the supply-chain end was shortened by 18.65%, and on the manufacturing side, an 85-inch large-screen TV can be rolled off the line on average every 20 seconds.
This improvement in manufacturing capability provides a solid support for Hisense Visuals’ global expansion, and also demonstrates the effectiveness of the company’s strategic transformation from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing.”
Meanwhile, technological competition across the global display industry continues to intensify. Uncertainty in the international trade environment and fluctuations in consumer demand will still bring challenges to the industry. For Hisense Visuals, whether it can continue to maintain its technological leading edge, accelerate the large-scale rollout of new businesses enabled by AI, and deepen its global layout will be the key to whether it can continue to unlock growth potential.
