France expresses "surprise" over Trump's accusation of "non-cooperation"
Xinhua Paris March 31 News (Reporter Sun Yi) According to French media on March 31, in response to remarks by U.S. President Trump that France was “extremely uncooperative” with respect to military action against Iran that day, the Élysée Palace said it was “surprised.”
That day, Trump posted on social media, saying that France would not allow the loading of military supplies or flights to Israel to overfly its territory. “France has been extremely uncooperative in its military action against Iran, and the U.S. will remember that!”
According to Le Parisien, the Élysée Palace said it was “surprised” by Trump’s remarks and told the media that France had not changed its position from the outset.
“We confirm this decision, and it is consistent with France’s stance since the conflict began,” the French presidential office emphasized.
French media reported on March 5 that U.S. military support aircraft have been approved to enter the Istres Air Base in southern France, but on the condition that the relevant aircraft do not participate in U.S. military action within Iran. (End)
