You know, everyone knows about Elon Musk, but his brother Kimbal Musk remains in the shadows, even though he's just as interesting a character. Recently, Kimbal caused a stir on X by criticizing Trump's tariff policy — claiming it's simply a disguised tax on American consumers. It's amusing that Elon’s brother isn't afraid to speak out against the trend.

Kimbal Musk is a billionaire with his own fortune of around $700 million, though the majority comes from Tesla stock. He is 52 years old and looks as distinctive as his famous brother — the same square jaw, straight nose, and green eyes. Both were born in Pretoria, and both hold South African, Canadian, and U.S. citizenship. But one detail sets Kimbal apart — he constantly wears a cowboy hat. That’s his signature.

Usually, you think that in the Musk family, everyone supports each other, but Kimbal Musk and Elon don’t always see eye to eye. Nevertheless, despite their different views, they truly love each other. Along with younger sister Tosca, they endured a difficult childhood — their parents divorced in 1979 due to family violence. After that, the family moved to Canada, then to the U.S.

Few remember that Kimbal Musk and Elon launched their first startup, Zip2 — a platform for online business directories. They sold it in 1999 to Compaq for $307 million. It was their first major success before Elon went further to create PayPal, Tesla, and SpaceX. Kimbal, on the other hand, chose a different path, focusing on philanthropy and environmental projects. An interesting contrast in a family where both brothers are successful, but each in their own way.
