Shouchuang Futures: Costs decrease, demand remains relatively weak, and glass futures prices approach a nearly one-month low.
In the spot market, the spot price of flat glass is 1,169 yuan/ton, unchanged from the previous trading day. The North China market is mainly stable; overall trading volumes are average, and transactions in the Shanhai market are flexible. In the East China market, trading is average; companies mainly ship out, downstream demand shows only limited improvement, and buyers continue to maintain rigid, just-needed purchasing.
On the supply side, the designed production capacity of Hubei Hanyu Building Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is 700 tons, and it stopped feeding raw materials as of March 31. The glass production line has waterproofing measures; the daily melt volume has further decreased. Last week, the total inventory of flat glass sample enterprises nationwide was 73.62M heavy cases, down 814k heavy cases month over month, or -1.09%; year over year, it was up +9.86%. Due to weaker orders, flat glass enterprises have slowed inventory reduction, and absolute inventory remains at a high level.
On the demand side, the average order lead time of deep-processing sample enterprises nationwide is 6.11 days, down 3.74% month over month before the holiday, and down 23.6% year over year. Demand recovery is slow; orders at processing plants are weak and below the same period level. Downstream funds are tight, so purchases are mainly driven by rigid needs. The pressure from long-term inventory of base glass remains relatively high, and flexible shipments are the main approach.
In short, flat glass still has expectations for cold shutdowns and repairs; the daily melt volume may continue to decline. However, real estate data is weak, deep-processing orders are also weak, which drags on market performance. It is expected that in the short term, flat glass futures prices will trade in a choppy downward range. Pay attention to the trends in cost prices, downstream order conditions, and changes in production lines. (CITIC Futures)
