On the evening of March 18, Wuliangye Co., Ltd. issued a notice to consumers to clarify a recent incident in which someone used the company’s name to lure consumers. The notice states that recently, some consumers said they received messages such as “Congratulations, you’ve won! Pay only 1 yuan to get a bottle of Wuliangye” and “Your account balance has been automatically cashed out; claim a bottle of Sichuan Wuliangye,” or similar content, and then contacted the company to verify it. In response, Wuliangye clearly said the company has never issued the above information on its own or authorized any other party to do so. There is major suspicion that this type of information uses the company’s name to mislead consumers, and it also carries risks such as the disclosure of personal information and financial losses. The company will actively cooperate with relevant authorities to investigate and handle the matter, and reserves the right to pursue the legal responsibilities of the relevant parties, to effectively safeguard market order and consumers’ rights and interests.
