Just caught this podcast episode about two under-the-radar AI stocks under $5 that actually look interesting. One is FiscalNote, which basically helps companies navigate regulatory stuff using AI - market cap around $168 million and trading at less than 3x sales, which is dirt cheap compared to the mega-cap AI plays sitting at 10x or higher. The other is iCAD, a smaller company at $52 million market cap that does AI-powered breast cancer detection for mammography. They're in like 50 countries and actually profitable with 86% gross margins.

What caught my attention is that both these AI stocks under $5 are focused on actual software applications rather than just riding the AI infrastructure wave. FiscalNote has a decent Zacks Rank too. iCAD's numbers look solid - Q3 revenue up 4% to $4.2 million and their price-to-sales ratio is around 2.7 for a software company. So if you're looking at AI stocks to buy under $5 instead of chasing the big chip and data center plays, these could be worth digging into.

Not financial advice obviously, but worth researching if you're interested in smaller AI companies with actual products already deployed. The valuation multiples alone make them interesting compared to the AI hype stocks everyone's throwing money at. Anyone else looking at small cap AI stocks under $5 right now?
