Ask AI · How should security companies respond to online rumors?

On April 7, a rumor about Hikvision quickly spread across social platforms. The circulated images show that the Hikvision surveillance system has vulnerabilities, and that more than 300 people at headquarters were taken away for investigation.

In response to this rumor, a reporter from “21 Rumor Refutation” called Hikvision as an investor. The staff member who answered the call clearly stated that the above rumor is false; the company does not have such a situation, and emphasized “Don’t believe rumors, don’t spread rumors.” Based on the staff member’s personal understanding, the company currently has no related business in Iran.

From a fundamentals perspective, as a leading enterprise in the security and smart IoT space, Hikvision’s operating performance remains steady. The earnings report shows that in 2025, the company achieved total operating revenue of 92.52B yuan, up 0.02% year over year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 14.19B yuan, up 18.46% year over year.

In the secondary market, as of the midday trading on April 7, Hikvision was trading at 29.95 yuan per share, down 1.06% on the day. Overall, the stock price has shown relatively limited fluctuations.
