Ceasefire Agreement спас the market: BTC slams into a violent rebound, shorts get wiped out
No one expected the black swan of geopolitics to change color!
After the U.S. and Iran suddenly announced a two-week ceasefire, the market’s previously tight nerves instantly loosened, and geopolitical risk plunged, giving the crypto market a strong shot in the arm.
BTC surged on the news, quickly tearing through the $71,000 defense line, surging as high as $72,800. The original panic-sell wave turned into frantic risk chasing within hours!
This rebound inflicted massive losses on shorts that had been betting on the escalation of war. Within 24 hours, the liquidation amount for BTC short positions reached as high as $429 million. Shorts were detonated in a chain reaction, and market leverage funds underwent a complete reshuffle.
Although spot ETFs are still seeing modest outflows, community sentiment has long shifted from being scared out of its wits to fearing missing out. Predictions about the probability of a ceasefire jumped by 32% in a single day, and everyone’s confidence is back.
While the black swan risk has been temporarily lifted, the market now is like a startled bird, reacting extremely sensitively. This big rally is mainly because there’s no more fighting—not because everyone suddenly has a better view of the long-term trend.
At present, $72,800 is still a resistance wall that’s hard to crack, and the options market’s response is rather muted, suggesting that everyone is still watching to see whether this rebound is just a fleeting rebound or really the start of a new trend.
This time, the money scared away by the war has come back. BTC has been consolidating sideways for more than two months. Although this move dealt a severe blow to those going short, the overall pattern hasn’t completely changed yet.
The next advice is very simple: Don’t get carried away just because it’s gone up a bit and chase with a full position. This is still a swing-trading market—watch the $72,800 level. If it can’t break through, you may have to turn back. Stay steady, wait until the market truly shows clear demand before acting, and don’t mess around in a choppy market. #Gate广场四月发帖挑战 $BTC
