According to monitoring by 1M AI News, CapCut announced today the launch of ByteDance’s AI video generation model Dreamina Seedance 2.0 in the United States, allowing all users to try it for free once. New users can enjoy a 90% discount on their first month subscription to CapCut Pro (limited time offer). The model is accessible through three channels: the CapCut app (v17.1.0 AI Lab entry), desktop, and web (Video Studio), and is being rolled out in batches. The U.S. is the last major market to enter the global promotion of Seedance 2.0. Last week, ByteDance expanded the model to Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, but excluded the U.S. Hollywood studios such as Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Netflix had previously threatened legal action against ByteDance for copyright infringement, which forced ByteDance to temporarily suspend its global promotion plans. CapCut stated that this launch includes ‘strict security measures’ to prevent unauthorized use of personal likenesses or intellectual property, but it remains unclear whether ByteDance has resolved the copyright disputes.
