Oman states that it has signed an agreement to not charge ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz

On the 8th local time, Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Mawali, said at a consultative meeting that Oman has signed an agreement related to international maritime transport. Under the terms of the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz is a natural passage and no fees may be charged to vessels transiting through it.

He also pointed out that, at present, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is communicating and consulting with all parties on the relevant issues.
