IT Home March 28 news: Wanda Film Co., Ltd. held the 10th meeting of the seventh session of its board of directors yesterday. It plans to change the company name to “Ruyi Film Entertainment Co., Ltd.”, with the security short name changing synchronously to “Ruyi Film.”

IT Home cites the official announcement here. The main reason for this change is that in April 2024, the company’s control rights were completed as part of a change. Shanghai Ruyi Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Ruyi Film and Television Production Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Ruyi Film and Television”) together hold 100% of the equity in Beijing Ruyi Investment Co., Ltd., the company’s controlling shareholder. The company has changed its name to better align with its strategic development direction.

After the renaming, “Wanda Cinemas” will be positioned as one of the company’s important cinema brand(s) and will continue to provide users with high-quality moviegoing and offline entertainment services.

In addition, this renaming has already obtained prior approval from the State Administration for Market Regulation. After the company’s shareholders’ meeting deliberates and approves it, the company will apply to the market regulation department for change registration and filing. The final outcome shall be subject to approval by the market regulation department. After the renaming, the company’s security code “002739” remains unchanged.
