Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Recently, three Chinese ships transited the Strait of Hormuz. Thank you to the relevant parties for their assistance.
On March 31, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference.
A reporter from Agence France-Presse asked a question: According to tracking data from a monitoring organization, two container ships belonging to COSCO Shipping have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz and have both now left the Gulf area. Has the Ministry of Foreign Affairs already obtained further assurances from the Iranian side regarding the safety of the vessels or the conditions for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz?
Mao Ning said that, through coordination with relevant parties, in recent days the Chinese side has had three vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz, and the Chinese side would like to thank the assistance provided by the relevant parties.
“The Strait of Hormuz and waters in its vicinity are an important international passage for cargo and energy trade. China calls for an immediate ceasefire and end to hostilities, and for the restoration of peace and stability in the Gulf region,” Mao Ning said.
