The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and eight other departments have jointly issued the “Action Plan for Promoting Innovative Development of the Internet of Things Industry (2026–2028).” The “Action Plan” proposes that within three years, the scale of the IoT core industry will exceed 3.5 trillion yuan. The “Action Plan” proposes that by 2028, the innovation capability of the IoT industry will continue to strengthen; breakthroughs will be achieved in key technologies such as sensing, networking and communications, data processing, and security; the level of intelligentization of terminals and platforms will be significantly improved; more than 50 advanced and applicable standards will be formulated and revised; application scenarios will be cultivated and developed including 10 application areas at the 100-million-connection scale and 15 application areas at the 10-million-connection scale; the number of IoT terminal connections is striving to reach a scale of 35k; and the scale of the IoT core industry will exceed 3.5 trillion yuan. The “Action Plan” proposes accelerating the deep integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, human-computer interaction, and edge computing with IoT application terminals, and improving the terminals’ capabilities for precise analysis, intelligent decision-making, and convenient interaction. Enhance the connectivity capability of network devices to meet IoT communication requirements for massive connectivity, low latency, interference resistance, and low power consumption. Stimulate demand for IoT applications in the consumer sector. Accelerate the development of technologies such as intelligent sensing and multimodal data fusion, and create a batch of advanced intelligent agents with independent sensing, control, and execution capabilities. Foster new products, new scenarios, and new models for integrated IoT and AI applications. (CCTV News)
