On March 31, at the opening ceremony of the 14th Energy Storage International Summit and Exhibition, Wu Guogang, a second-level inspector with the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the new energy storage industry’s scale is growing steadily. The MIIT will focus on four areas of work. First, plan at a high starting point for top-level design, and organize the drafting of the “15th Five-Year Plan” for new battery development; second, strengthen precise monitoring of industrial operations, dynamically track key operating indicators such as the production capacity, output, and prices of energy storage batteries, improve forward-looking assessments and risk prevention and control, curb repeated construction of low-level capacity, and guide the industry to scientifically plan and develop in a standardized manner; third, improve the standards system, enhance the implementation of mandatory national standards for energy storage batteries, and accelerate the formulation of key standards such as product safety ratings, performance classifications, and rapid testing; fourth, improve the long-term industry self-discipline mechanism, focusing on building a high-quality, fair and orderly market ecosystem where quality and price are aligned, break the deadlock of homogeneous and involuted competition, and promote the formation of a positive development pattern in which corporate self-discipline, industry regulation, and social supervision coordinate and work together.
