Local time on April 5, U.S. President Trump, during an interview, said that the United States is currently engaged in “deep negotiations” with Iran, and that an agreement could be reached before the April 7 final deadline set by him.

Two sources said that the talks are being conducted through intermediaries in Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey, and there has also been communication between Trump’s advisers and Iran’s foreign minister. Trump said that Special Envoy Witkoff and his son-in-law Kushner are conducting intensive negotiations with the Iranian side. Trump said it is very likely that an agreement will be reached, but that if one cannot be reached, he will destroy everything there.

Previously, Trump had threatened that if he fails to reach an agreement with Iran’s leadership, he would destroy infrastructure that is crucial to Iran’s civilians.
