Russian Foreign Minister: Russia and Islamic countries establish mutual trust dialogue on Middle East situation

People’s Finance and Economics reported on April 7 that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said on June 6, local time, that Russia and Islamic countries have established a trust-based dialogue on pressing international issues, including the situation in the Middle East. He said that Russia’s positions with Islamic countries are tending to align on a wide range of global and regional matters. Lavrov said that under the current situation in the Middle East region, strengthening mutual-trust relations with Islamic countries is one of Russia’s priorities. Russia advocates building a just multipolar world order and is opening up new opportunities for the development of equal cooperation. Earlier, Lavrov had said that Iran and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council are suffering serious consequences caused by U.S. and Israeli aggression, and that Russia firmly supports the interests of Iran and all countries in the Persian Gulf region.
